A Traversable World

The proximity of the land makes Privateland parcels unique from web domains. The new plot of land must be adjacent to the existing one. This proximity allows the spatial discovery of new content and the creation of districts devoted to specific topics or themes. While each web domain can have an unlimited number of hyperlinks to other content, plans on Privateland have a fixed amount of proximity. In addition, the contents of adjacent parcels can be seen from a distance. For content creators, district formation provides access to targeted traffic; for end users, it allows discovery of themed experiences. Users can travel through the environment and interact with the applications they find.

Discovery by proximity is the opposite of having infinite land: in that scenario, users will have a hard time finding relevant content by browsing it. With land being scarce, developers can acquire users by purchasing land in high-traffic areas. This will allow a secondary market to develop around land ownership and leasing.
